Free Classic Books Online at Classic Reader (you can search by authors, titles or genres...such a great place to start if you’re looking to start reading some classic books and novels!)
American Library Association – This is a great website to check out if you’re interested in learning about literacy in general. It has tons of information on literacy advocacy, conferences and events, and news, in addition to tools and resources to educate yourself with!
ReadWriteThink – provides people with quality practice resources in the language arts, most of which are all free materials.
Reading Worksheets, Spelling, Grammar, Comprehension, Lesson Plans (a slew of language arts resources that are mostly all free and printable!)
The Phrase Finder – over 2000 English language idioms and phrases; learn the meaning behind popular sayings.
English-Zone.Com by Kaye MM – this free website is created and maintained by an experienced English as a Second Language teacher. It includes everything from grammar lessons, reading help and other printable language arts activities.
GoEnglish.com Idioms (This is such a fun website...every time you refresh it a new idiom comes up!)
Grammar, punctuation, proofreading, and writing help from GrammarNOW! (So many grammar and writing resources to browse through. We especially love their ‘tip of the week’ section, which we print out and focus on weekly here at our center!)
